Local catering company to support "100 Reasons Y" campaign with Holiday dinner sales

Just in time to celebrate Giving Tuesday, Cravings Fine Food has stepped forward to support of the 100 Reasons Y campaign to build a new Barrie YMCA.

When asked for her "reason" for supporting the Y, Cravings' president and co-owner Jennifer Allen-Long shared that she and her family have benefited from the YMCA's programs and services.

The YMCA has always been a key part of my life and a foundation for understanding community. From swimming lessons on Grove Street to summer camp, personal fitness to leadership development at Geneva Park, the YMCA has kept me and my extended family healthy for generations."

Cravings and the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka have a long-standing relationship. For many years the local catering company supported the YMCA’s Spotlight Gala. This spring, when the YMCA announced it was going to deliver emergency child care for the families of frontline workers, Cravings reached out and offered to cater the program.

For the month of December, 10% of sales generated from Cravings’ Holiday Dinner packages will be donated to the 100 Reasons Y campaign to build a new Downtown Barrie YMCA. Allen-Long will match each dollar raised with a personal donation of her own.

"We are incredibly grateful that the team at Cravings has chosen the YMCA as their charity of choice this holiday season." said Brian Shelley, YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka Vice President. "The fact that Jenn will be matching every dollar raised through this initiative with her own personal donation speaks to her character and commitment to the people of Barrie."
